Who is Dogwood
Growing up in Virginia, dogwood trees were everywhere. They bloom around Easter, and there's an old legend tied to that timing. The four petals are said to form a cross. Each petal is notched at the tip and marked with rust, for the nail wounds in Jesus' hands and feet. The cluster at the center stands for the crown of thorns.
That story stayed with me, and it's where the name Dogwood Travel comes from. I wanted my work to bring together my love of travel and my faith, and to do some good along the way. So I commit 1% of every commission and service fee to charities that are close to my heart.
One of those charities is Save the Storks. They bring care directly to women facing unplanned pregnancies through mobile medical clinics, called Stork Buses, staffed by medical professionals who offer free ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, and one on one support. Beyond that first visit, they connect women with the resources that help them move forward, from parenting classes and financial aid to housing, education, and career support. Their work has reached thousands of women across the country, and it's the kind of quiet, hands on care I'm proud to stand behind.
If their work moves you the way it moves me, you can learn more or give at savethestorks.org. And every trip you book with me helps support it too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh9-afBps5U
How it started
I'm a wife and mom of three, and I've spent years planning trips for our family. Easy Caribbean weeks, longer trips through Europe, and plenty in between. Friends started asking for help with theirs, and that's how Dogwood Travel began.
I've always been drawn to the details. How a day flows, how the pieces come together, how one small decision shapes the whole trip. Planning for family and friends taught me to balance structure with room to breathe.
Some of our best memories were the ones I planned for. Others came from things that didn't go as expected, and learning to adjust without losing the trip. Both of those go into how I work now.
My approach
No two trips should feel the same.
I take the time to understand who you're traveling with, what matters most to you, and the pace you want. Some people want slow and unscheduled. Others want every day full. Most fall somewhere in between.
The goal is always the same. A trip that feels natural, well thought out, and easy to move through, without feeling overplanned.
A professional foundation
I'm accredited by the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), which lets me work directly with airlines and a trusted network of travel partners. That includes all 30 brands under Marriott International and the bespoke luxury villa company Isle Blue.
It's a level of access not every advisor holds, and it makes for a smoother experience, especially when coordinating air and the finer details of your trip.
Always learning
Travel keeps changing, and the way I serve my clients should too. I'm currently working toward more certifications and partnerships so I can keep expanding what I offer, with better options and a more thoughtful level of service on every trip.
At the end of the day, this is about helping you travel in a way that feels like you, and coming home glad you went.
